We had four pieces of old equipment to dispose of after a kitchen re-fit. Should we pay Ynys Môn Council £47.00 to pick them up, with us having to drag everything to the kerbside by 7.00am; or should we ask Phoenix Scrapyard in Gaerwen, who offered to pick them up free of charge, even carrying them from our garage to their trailer, and also taking other odd bits of metal we wanted to get rid of? Not a difficult choice, was it? For only one or two items, they might not have agreed, but if we had had more than four, they might even have paid us! Phoenix is an excellent local company, with very friendly and helpful staff, so don’t allow yourself to be ripped off by the council when there is a much better alternative.
